Welcome to MOMocrats
Welcome to MOMocrats! (Take two.)
This site is dedicated to putting a Democrat in the White House in January 2009, and effectuating real change in our nation. We are a group of moms who have come together to support the candidate we think will make a positive change in our nation and has the best chance to win the general election.
Now, we don't know W(ho)TF to vote for, but one thing we do know is this: Barack and Hillary, we're going to hold you to his standard and you're going to have to earn each and every one of our votes. MOMocrat Lawyer Mama puts it perfectly:
Up until now, you haven't been paying much attention to us, the parents who blog. It's not that you don't care what bloggers think. All we have to do is hop on over the Daily Kos or the Huffington Post and read about the kind of access you give political bloggers. Oh, we know you care. You just haven't seemed to care unless you can directly see a result in terms of political support or money. It's not so clear cut with us, the parents who blog about anything and everything. But make no mistake, we vote, we're well educated, and we talk and write about politics in a personal way. People read our blogs. Some people actually do care what we think.
So, here's what (we) say: Take heed, Senators. The internet is viral. If one of our fellow mom bloggers can get thousands of women across the country heading to the gym in an attempt to replicate her Big O on the treadmill, just think what we could do for your ideas and your campaign. Individually, we may not be much. Together? Oh, together we are a force. But you have to prove to us that you're the right person for the job.
Ignore us at your peril.
Hillary, Barack: We'd love to meet with you to discuss this further. We MOMocrats blog all over the United States from Hawaii to Washington D.C. and can meet you anywhere, anytime. Call us and we'll have a playdate!

We respect the other candidates, and appreciate their service to our country. After agonizing over the choices for months, we feel that John Edwards is the best person for the job. In the coming weeks and months, we'll share with you the specific reasons why, and give you some food for thought. Eat up...you'lll need your strength to get you through this election this year.
We're supporting Edwards because, like most moms, we're tired. We're not tired from staying up all night with a colicky baby, or from pacing the floor waiting for our teens to come home.
We're tired of sending our sons and daughters off to fight a war for the benefit of oil billionaires' profits. Tired of lagging behind the rest of the world in education, and paying more and more for "public" education that teaches only to a test and leaves the individual needs of students behind. Tired of a broken healthcare system that leaves millions of families and individuals uninsured. Tired of politicians pretending that global warming doesn't exist, leaving the problem to our children to solve. Tired of being paid less than men for the same work, then being expected to come home to the "second shift" of parenting, housework, and homework. Tired of the widening gap between rich and poor that leaves millions of single mothers struggling to make ends meet.
We're tired, but optimistic. John Edwards gives us hope. Hope that we can help the country we love become a better place for our children and their children. Hope that we can make a difference and leave the world a better place, because we know our children are worth it.
We hope you'll join us, and vote for John Edwards. If you don't, you're grounded.
Just so you are clear: This site is not affiliated with or paid for by John Edwards for President or John Edwards OneCorps.

Very witty site! Now how do we put all this feminine know-how, nurturant energy and good intention to work? (My own children called this MommyMagic, as when a kiss really does make it feel better. I've got a feeling we may need more practical methods.

john edwards was my first choice too. I sincerely believe he has our best intrests in his heart. Elizabeth is great too. she would have made a terrific first lady, with intelligence, grace, etc. Now I have chosen Brak Obama. Just the way he has run his campaign, hoe he tries very hard not to sling mud or denigrate anybody,{although he has a right to, after all they've tried to mess him up with}. I believe he is our only hope left. Michelle Obama is awesome. You can tell that she is honest, hard working, and doesn't take any crap from anyone. Even those in D.C. who think they are the most powerful. I'd like to see those lobbiests knocked down quite a few pegs. And I think that the Obama's can and will do it.
