« And the awards goes to... | Main | What Edwards Meant, by Ezra Klein »

January 31, 2008

Welcome to the new MOMocrats! (Edwards may be out, but we're not going anywhere!)

Obamaclinton
As you have undoubtedly heard by now, yesterday our candidate, John Edwards, suspended his bid for the presidency. Yesterday was a dark day for the MOMocrats.

Today we had planned to do a "No Hillary Day" in advance of Super Tuesday explaining why some of us were not going to be casting ballots for Hillary Clinton in the primary. Last year we did a "NObama" day so it only made sense that we give Hillary equal "consideration."

With our candidate now out of the race, some of us are left wondering, "W(ho)TF do we vote for now?!" So today we will attempt to put thoughts and feelings "on paper" as it were, to explain either why we couldn't or didn't want to vote for Hillary in the primaries. We may have to vote for her come November and we'll do it in order to beat a Republican, but until then, we're going to workshop the hell out of these candidates and hold them accountable to John Edwards' high standards. We invite you to participate with us, and if you have strong opinions about Hillary or Barack, by all means, share them. It's going to be an interesting year.

Please scroll down.

MOMocrats! I want a hug!

Don't forget - Gravel's still on the ballot. ;)

My biggest problem is the fact that I've already been elected a delegate to support join at my county (and possibly state) convention. What do I do now? Suddenly, Nevada's early caucus is a whole lot less exciting. No one told us what to do if our candidate drops out.

Thanks for this website - I may not be a mom now, but I certainly hope to be in the next four years.

I hate (HATE!) that I only stumbled upon this website this morning - I wish I had known it existed all along! Just wanted to note too that if you've still to vote in a primary (Tsunami Tuesday, anyone?) as I do you can STILL vote for John and as I can't bring myself to vote for anyone else that's exactly what I'll be doing...

Sorry you guys lost your candidate, but am glad to now put MOMocrats on my reading rotation. Looking forward to reading some healthy debate about the Democratic candidates.

It would have been nice if Edwards could have stuck it out through Super Duper Tuesday. It kind of sucks that the primaries are strung out for so long. I think it allows people who win early to influence the vote in those states that vote later in the year. I have to wait until May to vote. By the time that happens it'll probably only be Clinton and Obama on the Democrat side and McCain and Romney on the Republican side. Not much choice if you ask me.

Help?!?
I have fallen and I cant get up...
Where to put energy for Super Tuesday---
It is too important to do nothing
Saturday Nite on CNN is repeat of Republican Debate
and Dem Debate.
If you didnt see Republican Debate, please watch
John McCain is very scary, militarist
He is running an ad today with a military star in the middle of
the ad--
Will Dems campaign be "Vote for me and I will solve your problems
And Repubs: John McCain:" Vote for me or Die..."(terrorist,etc
afghanistan, etc etc)
This is seriously not funny.
Anybody know blogs besides us that we can
reach out to California voters? We need to carry that state.
I am very sad Edwards is out of presidential, but dont underestimate
him , for all we know, he may be doing things behind the scenes
to get his Dem in White House, and he has a future role...
we just dont yet know what it is..
Keep the Faith...
America needs us
Thanks, Moms
Carol
