« Can We PLEASE Forget About the Blue Dress? | Main | MOMocrats WTF of the Day: Barack Obama's Passport Breach »

March 20, 2008

Nixon Would be Proud

It was only "imprudent curiosity" of low-level contract State Department employees who accessed Barack Obama's confidential passport file.

Three separate timesOver the last three months.

At the height of the primary election season.

And the State Department just found out about it today.

Wasn't it just a few weeks ago when a McCain campaign official said that if Obama turned out to be the Democratic nominee, he'd resign?

He wouldn't say why.

Coincidence?  I think not.

Sometimes if it looks like a conspiracy and smells like a conspiracy, it really is a conspiracy.

If only Richard Nixon was still alive to exercise some '70s-style punditry.

Over at her place, PunditMom, Joanne is remembering that they also said that E. Howard Hunt and his cronies were "just" a bunch of run-of-the-mill burglars.  And, yes, she realizes that her knowledge of Watergate gives much too big a clue about her age.

The best part of this (at least in the MSNBC version of the story) was the line:

"The incidents raise questions as to whether the information was accessed for political purposes..."

Duh... Ya Think?
