Yes We Can Mashups
Maybe it takes the demented, sleep-deprived mind of a parent to cross memes where no memes should be crossing...but someone else besides me noticed that Barack Obama and construction dude and kiddie character Bob the Builder share a cheery, uplifting tagline: "Yes We Can!"
Or in Bob the Builder's case, "Can we fix it? Yes, we can!"
I mean, I figure Bob would probably vote for Obama on the solar-powered sunflower farm ticket, given that you can use the seeds, stems, and flowers for all sorts of sustainable products. If only Bob were a U.S. citizen.
Tune up your casiotones, ladies and gentlemen, and check this out:
Or how about this version?
Then there's my favorite catchy Bob the Builder tune, "Mambo No. 5." Would MOMocrats readers think less of me if I said I kinda rock out to this song? Not that I do. (Parents: do NOT try this at home in an altered state. Not that you would.)
C'mon folks, this one's ripe for a mashup.
"We can always send in the tractor!" **cough** Um, yes we can?
(Hat tip to my 4 year old son, a Bob the Builder--and now Obama--fan.)

I love it.

I always appreciated the underlying sexual tension between Bob and Wendy. But that pumpkinhead dude was just creepy.

Cute!
The best part was Bush being swept away from the White House. I watched that part three more times. :-)

Does sleep-deprived count as an altered state? Cuz that second vid had me seriously tripping.
If only I had some decent video editing software, I would totally take on this challenge . . .

Awesome! I admit a partiality to the Mambo #5 for several reasons but chief among them is that's from my girl crush Cat Deeley's show. :) So yes I think they need to do a mashup with that one!
Now to see the Black Eye Peas Obama song! Again! LOL

I was listening to a great light-hearted NPR interview/commentary when I heard about the BTB/Obama similarity :) And it was the first time I noticed my dad's Obama sign so teased him.

I'm going to be singing this all day long.
