We just had a fantastic discussion about the Big 3 Automaker bailout/recovery. Great participants posed theories, asked questions, asserted opinions, and in the end, we all came out knowing a few more things that we started with, which is essential in today's world: to have as much information and understanding as possible because if nothing else, we've learned that every voice matters, and we can make a difference.

Scott Monty from Ford even dropped by to answer some questions and add important information.

Did you know the Ford Chairman has not received a salary since 2005? I didn't. Learning that  cleared up a huge misconception I had.

That inspired me to get moving on a project we've discussed for months on MOMocrats and implemented recently: ask the MOMocrats.

Drive (Electric), She Said: Big 3 Auto Bailout, Cont'd

Later on today we'll be chatting in Meebo about various proposals to help the Big 3 American automakers. According to some estimates, GM could be out of oxygen by the end of this quarter.

I won't be able to do an in-depth post on the pros and cons of various approaches, but I thought I could at least put an annotated list of interesting articles out there in case you want to do a little quick reading up before we chat. Or even follow up on interesting reading after we're done.

MOMocrats Chat-o-Rama: Live at 5:00PM PST tonight

Watch the final Presidential Debate with the MOMocrats

The MOMocrats will be liveblogging and chatting the debate tonight. We are trying something new and using Meebo Rooms.  Please create an ID on meebo.com and then join us for a chat in our public room. (Do create your own ID, if you attempt to chat from the blog without it your ID will be some form of farm animal. If you have trouble you can Meebo IM "CityMama.") We are trying this new solution since we seem to have outgrown Cover It Live.  Eighty people should be able to chat unmoderated for this event which is a relief to those of us who took turns fast and furiously approving comments during past events.

The black box below will eventually contain a live stream of the debate so you can also watch the debate here as well.  At least that is our hope.  The chat room will be open from now until the debate starts so feel free to chat away and we'll see you when the debate starts (if not a little bit before).  Thanks for bearing with us through these technological challenges.
