With celebs like George Lopez, Jessica Alba, John Leguizamo, and Macy Gray, this one seems to target people of color. What do you think about this one v. "Yes We Can?"
I think it is fabulous. Gave me goosebumps. will.i.am is a musical genius.

The first time I watched it, I thought the chanting was a little creepy. The second time, it made me cry. I think it was the message, "We can change the world" and not "He can change the world" that did it. That's the difference between Obama and Hillary to me. He promises what WE can do; she promises what SHE can do. Though I think she's capable, it's going to take ALL of us to clean up the mess left by Bush.

I love it. It's different than the Yes We Can video -- this one does indeed seem targeted, and I think that's great. My sense is that it's in part for the Latinos in Texas who are on the fence or need some sort of push towards Obama. As a Latina, who has been ashamed of the racist under- and overtones of the majority of Latinos in the US who are against Obama, it was pretty powerful to see John Leguizamo, George Lopez, and others in this video. And knowing my people, this kind of star power will work. :-) We love our celebrities!

I liked it, but not as much as the original.
But I definitely agree that the "we" element Glennia pointed out comes through strongly. "We are the ones we've been waiting for"--there's no cavalry, no knight in shining armor who'll save us. Just all of us, holding our elected representatives' feet to the fire. And that includes Obama, if he becomes our president.
I'm just a little disappointed there weren't any Asian Pacific Americans in the mix. (Did I miss them? Where was Apl.de.Ap, for one?)

It gave me goosebumps too. I love the comment about how Obama will be our president, not just president of the top 10% or the most powerful corporations.

Gave me goosebumps too although the chanting also kind of unnerved me just a little bit.
But the message of "we are the ones" is a powerful one. I think I prefer Yes We Can more.
