We take a break from our regularly scheduled MOMocrats critical thinking, overthinking and general thinkiness, to bring you...shopping.
A recent find: The birth announcements from Baby is Here introducing your little Democrat to the world. Girls of course are welcomed in pink and boys in blue, although I'd suspect that some progressives would take issue with the choices as reinforcing outmoded gender stereotypes. Whatev.
The key visual above the headline is a crib mobile made of red white and blue donkeys. I imagine the GOP version is the same, only featuring teeny little Darth Vaders.
Also they cost 10 times more, but you pay taxes on them at the lower rate.

Those are adorable! Wish I'd had them when my kid was born. Great way to tick off the Republican family members.

Is it just me, or are some people a leeeetle too obsessed with their political affiliation?
I mean, they're not sports teams.
I totally would have been a Republican during the Civil War.

Jaelithe, considering we had a photo of Thalia at four months dressed in full Redskins gear at a game for her first xmas card...I can't answer that question.

Jaelithe, no doubt I would have been Whig. Just for the name alone. (The anti-slavery faction, of course).

When I was pregnant with our first child, my sister was also pregnant. We told our parents at Christmas when we gave each other baby presents. My sister gave me one of the those stuffed animal mobiles, blue gingham elephants. Our 90 year old Southern grandmother took one look at the present and, without missing a beat, said, "You couldn't find donkeys?" She may have too obsessed with politics as the earlier commenter said, but I sure miss her spirit.

If we start with the clothing "indoctrination" for sports teams from birth, maybe it's a good idea (at least for us Democrats) to start with the political affilation that early, as well!

I claim guilty as the guy behind babyshere.com that we also have cards for sports team colors. But, I like these dem ones much more. However, the republican cards sell slightly better. But the comment we get most is someone saying about the democrat cards, "Wouldn't it kill mom/dad if we sent these."
