I loved watching this video of Barack Obama's half-sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, describing their family life and what running for president means to Barack. It's nice to hear about Obama from his extended family—from someone who knows him well. We haven't really seen his sister or grandmother on the campaign trail.
Dr. Soetori-Ng teaches English at a girls' school in Hawaii and also teaches classes at the University of Hawaii at night. She seems like a pretty rawkin' MOMocrat in her own right. Dr. Soetoro-Ng—you are welcome to guest post anytime!
I saw Maya close-up, speaking at a campaign rally in Hawaii just before our state's caucus. She may be as great a speaker as Obama is - must be in the genes! She was funny, warm, witty, eloquent, enthusiastic, and inspirational. She really is a tremendous asset to the campaign, and I think she should be used more. Maybe she will be more visible in the summer when school is out and she has more time to be on the road.
