Can it be - is the Senate going to have an actual, real conversation this week about our planet's future? How is this happening, given that the bulk of the Republican party refuses to believe such a thing exists as "global warming" (although, honestly, I think I should put it in double -- triple? -- quotes for their skeptical sakes)?
Take a look at this AP piece. And scroll down to the best part, about what Barbara Boxer says, because she's AN ACTUAL HUMAN BEING, WITH A PULSE AND A HEART AND EVERYTHING. (Pardon the yelling, but I'm sort of stunned sometimes when people in our government reveal that they, oh, you know, CARE. See? The yelling, it just blurts out, synchronized-swimming style.) Or, okay, I'll include her quote here:
Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., a chief architect of the 500-page bill, said at a news conference the urgency of taking action against climate change cannot be overstated, declaring, "It's about our children, about their children, and about the planet we've inherited."
Barbara Boxer = Beautiful Brain. Well, and heart. (I'm redundant like that.)
