What in the world does the man have to complain about? He's risen to heights unimaginable for the bulk of the world's population. He's a US Senator, married to an heiress of untold millions. He can afford shoes that cost $500. Presumably (wait - does that make me presumptuous?, because, uh-oh, I guess I must be in league with his presumptuous opponent, only, I'm a white woman, so - oh, I can't do the math. I am nothin' but a silly, white female - *giggle*), McCain can afford many, many pairs of Ferragamos and Jourdans and Guccis, given his wife's hefty bank account.
Those are probably awfully comfortable loafers he's stomping around in.
Wonder what, for pete's sake, could make him go negative in his campaigning?
If you've got any ideas, feel free to share.
$500 kicks???
New nickname: Senator McMarcos.
ONE pair of $500 shoes is bad enough. But you don't think he only has one pair, do you?
I think this is his "parasailing" moment (Kerry supporters will know what I"m talking about).
So much for "regular guy" cred points!

My idea? Its because he finds it difficult to match his opponents star power, and because we will always respond to negative ads. We will decry them, speak disparagingly of 'those people' who use them -- but we will notice them. Like spam, they only have to work a little bit.

You seem to forget that for years he was tortured in Viet Nam. One of the methods of torture was caning of bare feet. Give the guy a break.
