Positive, can-do supporters. Negative, how-low-can-you go supporters.
Last week, McCain said he was gonna Bring. It.
Ayers? ACORN (which conservatives falsely say engages in voter registration fraud)? It wasn't brung. Oops.
This week, McCain said he was gonna Bring It and Then Some. Get all
punk rock on Obama.
Here's what actually happened, in between a lot of denture-whistling, eye-rolling, twitchy lip-licking, shrugging, geezery interrupting, snorting/panting, blinkety blink-blink blinking, grimacing, and just general all-around mugging:
Somebody got owned. (Oops.) I don't think it was Obama. The Force was too strong in him to allow for that.
"Facts are facts, and records are records," says McCain.
McCain as the keynote speaker for ACORN in 2006. OOOPS!
Hungry for seconds?
According to Politico, this is McCain sitting with Florida Rep. Kendrick Meek in March 2006, at the ACORN event where McCain delivered the keynote. Oops.
As for associations with, in McCain's own words, "washed up old terrorists" like Bill Ayers, how about McCain's longstanding, deep friendship with G. Gordon Liddy?
The guy who brought us Watergate, advised Branch Davidian cultists to shoot federal Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms agents in the head because they'd be wearing body armor, and said listening to Hitler gave him a yummy tingle?
G. Gordon Liddy likes flags.
If we want to play this game, then G. Gordon Liddy is friends with John McCain, and John McCain is snuggly with George Bush, then G. Gordon Liddy is two degrees of separation from George Bush. Explain THAT, George!
George W. Bush also likes flags. It's the Constitution (or the American people) he doesn't much care for.
Oops.
Updated to add: Joe the Plumber a registered Republican, not independent as he first claimed? Not a licensed plumber and in no position to buy a plumbing business with gross receipts of $250,000? Eligible for Obama's tax cuts with his $40,000 salary? I'm shocked, shocked I tell you that centerpiece of McCain's debate discussion turned out to be built on a false foundation.

I think I will probably suffer from PTSD brought on by that picture of Gordon Liddy. Please pass the brain bleach.

Re: Liddy, I'm not sure what's more offensive, the flag-themed nutsling, or the curiously clod-hopping look of the Teva sandals.
Obvs the dangerous whackadoo wingnuttery is abominable no matter how you dress it up...or lay it bare.
