I will be cheering on as I witness the beginning of change as a pro-American, pro-Obama, pro-choice, pro-share the wealth woman.

For the first time in 35 years of voting, I'll be pulling for the Democrat - an overwhelming Obama win is the best thing that could happen to our country - and to the remaking of a more enlightened GOP.

On Election Night, I will be glued to the TV and resolved to stay awake until the results are final - for fear of waking up to a 2000 Morning After WTF!?!? moment.

On election night...
I will attend my friend's culinary school dessert buffet, then head to wherever the campaign's watch party is held. Then I will watch as Missouri goes blue. Then I will cry tears of political joy, something I have never done. Then I will dance in the streets.
Then I will have a big headache the next day.

On election night...
I will be watching the results with the Democratic Party in the suites for the Human Rights Campaign and Arizona Together anxiously awaiting the defeat of Prop 102! Oh and watching history be made as Obama becomes President.

On election night, I will actually *stay up* after putting the baby to bed, pour a glass of wine, and prepare to toast the victory of President Obama (wow...just writing that gives me goosebumps!!).

On election night...
I will be letting my kids stay up a little bit late so that some day they can tell *their* kids that they witnessed history.

I will be watching the Daily show coverage and refreshing CNN.com constantly! I plan to soak in every moment so I can tell my grandchildren about it in 30 years.
Posted by: Sara | October 28, 2008 at 01:37 PM
I'll leave work early, go vote, and head home to prop my feet up, pour a glass of wine, and watch returns all night long. I'll be so sick of CNN by daybreak I won't want to watch for another month. But I'll have the satisfaction of seeing the fruition of an historic campaign. Hopefully it will be an historic presidency as well. I can't wait.

Nancy - you must be from Massachusetts. Vote NO on question 1!!!
On election night, I will wake up from this 8 year bad dream, and see the clear dawn.

On election night
My husband will recognize our 8th anniversary - but instead of a romantic evening out we'll spend it watching the election returns and hoping that our children will have a brighter future.

I will be fervently praying that Obama wins by a landslide. And I am not a praying kind of gal.
Posted by: Lee Anne | October 28, 2008 at 04:34 PM
I will be GLUED to my television, watching the coverage, packing for a vacation the NEXT DAY... which will involve seeing Barack, Michelle, Malia and Sasha's new home (THE WHITE HOUSE)!!!!
All while ready to pop the cork on the champagne that is already chilling in my fridge!!!
Posted by: Tara | October 28, 2008 at 05:36 PM
On election night, I will be sitting at the TV waiting for a new day to dawn in this country. A change that bridges this country and allows us to feel like we are one again, rather than being so divided.
Posted by: Denise Lang | October 28, 2008 at 06:03 PM
On election night I will be having a special dinner with my family to celebrate this momentous occasion.
Then drinking a glass of wine and toasting President Barack Obama. Then sending up healing thoughts for all those people who are racist, closed minded and hateful so that they might open their minds and find joy.

On election night, I would switch on CNN and monitor the fate, not only of the US, but also the rest of the world.

On election night I will be crossing my fingers and toes and even my boobs if it will help get Obama elected.
Posted by: Major Bedhead | October 28, 2008 at 10:21 PM
On election night I might only periodically check the results online--I think the tension of following every detail on radio/tv might just do me in.
Posted by: Heather | October 28, 2008 at 11:39 PM
On election night I will be sitting on my sofa with crossed fingers and clenched buttocks until I get the answer I'm hoping for: "The results are in. The president-elect is Barack Obama." The dawning of a new era. If that is not what I hear at the end of it all, I will cry myself to sleep.
Posted by: Heather J | October 29, 2008 at 07:28 AM
I will be watching the election returns from the freakin' Holiday Inn Express, near Fort Benning, Georgia... I have to be there to teach a class next week.
Damnit.

On election night, I'll actually spend the hours from 7-9 practicing for our Christmas concert with our singing group (where we were told LAST NIGHT to make sure that we voted BEFORE we came) and then heading home to watch the returns with my professional firefighter husband who is vastly interested in the local returns as we have three fire levies on the ballot.

On election night, I will be resting my feet from a day of canvassing and last minute election work (GOBAMA! no on 8!)...and hopefully sipping champagne to celebrate an OBAMA administration.

On election night...
we will usher in a new day for American politics, for American families, for African-Americans, for foreign policy, for domestic agendas. For women, for children, for seniors, for students. We will see that we the people have spoken in record numbers. We will have elected Barack Obama the next President of the United State of America.
We'll make history!
