A couple of weeks ago, I had a personal crisis -- whether to watch the last Presidential debate or the season finale of Project Runway. If you know me, you know that this was not a joke.
Thanks to the miracle of modern technology, I did both one after the other! But now, I can have both at the same time -- the perfect combination of politics and fashion has been put together by Project Runway mentor Tim Gunn!
Hillary Clinton as the Great Pumpkin? S&M Cindy McCain? Sarah Palin, Vice-President a-go-go?
Not my words, but those of the great fashion guru himself.
When it comes to style, you can take his words to the bank. I really want to know what Gunn thinks about how these fashion choices and statements (or questions!) will impact the final election outcome!
I love Tim.

Thanks for the political fashion links! Overall, I agree with Tim Gunn (like - who would I be to argue with HIM?) - except I think Hillary gets a bad rap for those pantsuits. They're simple, they're comfortable - and keep her from getting distracted over trivialities like what to wear. (He's right - men have it so much simpler!) I know that once I hit middle age, the thought of wearing dresses (and the painful shoes that go with them) became anathema to me. I like that she forges a different way to be a woman and look professional.

Oh, how I love Tim Gunn -- thanks for this link!
@Donna, I don't take issue with the *idea* of pantsuits, but I do intensely dislike (most of the time) Hillary's execution. The solid-color suits like the one in the video end up looking like 1970s leisure suits, IMO. On the other hand, she looked positively stunning in the debate when she wore the brown tween jacket w/black trim (and chunky gold jewelry). Hillary could stand to hire a color consultant and stylist, even just to get started.
On Nancy -- oh, I agree. I even commented to my husband how much I loved her outfit on 8/28. The woman can work it, look gorgeous, AND look professional.
