Dear World,
It took more than a year of hard work and dedication to the singular cause of getting a Democrat elected to the White House, but we did it. Finally, we did it. For you. For us. For our beautiful children. And yours. Tonight hope trumps fear. Change is set in motion. This is the America we know and love. The America on its way to unity and healing that is years over due. Our children will finally get to see the best our wondrous country has to offer, and for us, that makes the victory all the sweeter.
Yes we can! We will! And we did! Tonight we celebrate!
Love,
The MOMocrats
P.S. We aren't going anywhere!
I remember getting together for coffee then meeting the other amazing MOMocrats. All of us determined to do what we can to let our voices be heard - that we wanted change.... All leading up to this moment. Watching Barack Obama's victory speech is beyond moving. I am now feeling hopeful for myself and my kids future(One of the news quotes were that 66% of the young vote went to Barack Obama, young people are energized).

This is the most beautiful morning I can remember. (Don't bother telling me it's gray, windy, and a tad chilly outside. It's sunny and 80 in my world!)
I love that we all can feel pride that we contributed in some way. The momocrats with this blog, others of us with our (small) monetary contributions, our volunteering, or just our tireless talking to friends and neighbors. This was truly a collective effort to choose hope over fear and to reject the divisive politics of the last 8 years, which makes the victory all the sweeter.

This blog has been an important part of my reading these past months.
Many thanks, Momocrats.

Woot! And we're going to have at least 94 women serving in the House and Senate (Burner's race in WA and Kilroy's race in OH are still TCTC).

From a Canadian:
I was in a meeting last night (on another matter of course) with about 150-200 people present. The topic was fairly divisive. One of the people at the meeting interrupted to announce Obama was president-elect.
And a huge cheer erupted in the room.
Congratulations.
And thank you.

I am jubilant today. I want to memorize every single detail and emotion so I can relive this when I retell the story of Barack Obama to my children.

Well Momocrats... my hat is off to you!
You ladies have done important work in support of Democratic candidates in many ways; you have informed your readers, you have made the voices of your readers heard by directly interviewing candidates, their spouses, and members of their staffs.
You ladies should be further congratulated for allowing guest posts by folks who weren't members of the group. Your cogent, reasoned, well-written blog posts have been a daily part of my blogging life for months.
I hope it won't be too much for me to ask that all of you continue to march. I see you all as being important to the national discourse, and for you to go silent would be a great loss to us all.
Blessings and peace be upon you all.
